Many in society acknowledge that life is becoming more expensive. That is why some sectors believe the government should provide children with transport to school. However, others say it is the parents’ responsibility, not the government’s, to provide school transport. In my view, parents should bear this burden.

Because of rising expenses, families today spend a lot more than before. This is why some people want the government to provide free school transport to help reduce costs, making life better for all families. Another positive reason for this is that the economy may be productive if parents did not have to bring their kids to school. Since not everybody lives nearby, many parents wake up earlier than usual to take their kids to school before heading to work, draining their energy and making them less productive.

However, others say it should be the parents’ responsibility. Not everybody has children, so others believe it is not right that the taxes of singles be used to pay for school transportation. Next, if parents want to ensure their children’s safety, they should be the ones bringing their kids to school. In this way, the government can focus on the more important things like attracting investors and providing national security.

In my opinion, I agree that parents must bear this burden, not the government. Raising a family is a choice spouses make together. They should be ready to shoulder all the costs related to it, including taking their kids to school. Doing so also makes them more responsible, teaching parents to budget their time and expenses to ensure their kids get to school safely and on time. So for me, it is not right for families to pass this responsibility onto the government.
